Sewn – notebook binding
The cover is bound to the middle pages by flat staples or eyelets i.e. eurostaples on the spine. This type of binding is suitable for up to 60 pages + cover. Used for catalogues and brochures.
Soft binding glued or threaded and glued
The cover is bound to the middle pages with glue on the spine or threading followed by gluing the cover with the spine. Today's technologies and adhesives mean that the days of publications falling apart when unfolded are long gone, even without threading. For this type of binding, the volume depends on the grammage. Spine width from 2 to 50mm. Spine length from 110 to 320mm. Used for catalogues and books. For this type of binding, the cover is usually printed on paper with a higher grammage than the middle pages.
Hard biding and threaded
The cover is made of solid cardboard from 1 to 3mm, and the centre-page inserts are threaded together and glued on the spine and connected to the cover with stickers on the front and back of the publication. The main advantage of using hard sewn binding is durability. A straight or semicircular spine can be used. Spine width from 2 to 50mm. Spine length from 110 to 310mm. Used for books and albums.
The cover as well as the centre pages can be refined as desired for each type of binding.
